Many contingents of peaceful marchers, like this, tried to converge on Champ de Mars from different areas of Port-au-Prince. This group of over 6,000 demonstrators started out in Bel-Air and was heading down towards the National Palace when they were fired on by the Haitian Special Forces (SWAT) . The organizers presented the press with a document, approving the march, stamped with an official PNH seal and signed by a senior officer.
