May 4, 2005 demonstration stops to protest in front of UN headquarters on Rue Pan-Americain. How can the U.N. move to challenge the brutality and abuses of the Haitian police when their mandate includes training and bolstering the very same forces? How could they challenge Gousse's assertion of the right of the Haitian police to kill demonstrators when their mandate is to protect the unpopular US-installed regime at all costs?
