Dear Colleagues,


We send you our heartfelt greetings,

We send you our many thanks for your dedication and support for the people
of Haiti in their present struggle to overcome many difficulties and violent
repression.

Faced with this massive attempt to destroy us beginning on February 22,
2004, we cannot remain passive. We are inviting you to join us in Haiti in a
number of activities on the occasion of the anniversary of Bwa Kayiman,
August 14, 2004.


Enclosed is a resolution that describes the planned activities and a summary
of the historical importance of Bwa Kayiman, not only for the people of
Haiti but for humanity. On the anniversary of this event ^ which opened the
way toward making Haiti an independent nation ^ we see an occupation by
foreign armies and an oligarchy that has taken the country hostage and is
violating the rights of the people of Haiti.

This occupation has annihilated the sacred vote that the people had cast for
President, Senators, Congresspersons, Senators, Mayors, County and City

We are making an appeal to all who are in struggle to be in solidarity with
the people of Haiti as we commemorate Bwa Kayiman and the resistance of our
ancestors.
