HaitiAction.net - Bwa Cayiman commemorations in Haiti may get a break in the weather. Like an invisible dagger in the heart, an upper level cyclone surprised NOAA forecasters with its sudden appearance. Prayers were answered and Erzili Danto is pleased.

Tropical storm CHRIS is likely to be downgraded to a tropical d target="_blank"epression soon. Forecasters probably wanted to make that official change, but the satellite images (see images on this page) are showing a possibility that Cris could reform on its way north. For now the consensus is that there is a good probability that the organization of the storm could break apart.

Just the same, heavy rainfall is likely to hit the Dominican Republic who's government may have been a bit premature* in discontinuing the Tropical Storm Warning for the north coast. Puerto Rico has been hit with up to 5in of rainfall from the outer bands while the center of Chris passed 130mi to the north (20.5N 67.3W) at 1011mb. The DR is likely to see significant flooding as the rain formation will hit the Island later today.

*UPDATE the Govenment of the DR agreed with HaitiAction.net and has reinstated the Tropical Storm Watch for the north coast. 1-2 inches of rain are likely in some regions
